My buttermilk and gout story is unusual. Because I have never mentioned buttermilk in any articles. Nor has it been mentioned in any GoutPal forum. Yet my traffic analysis reveals a common question from gout sufferers - "Is buttermilk good for uric acid?"
So I had a pre-research look to see if there is any link between buttermilk and uric acid or gout. Then I became intrigued by an unexpected link that raises many more questions in my mind.

I've reviewed a couple of gout articles that mention lettuce. That has made me realize there is quite a high level of interest in different aspects of lettuce and gout. So here is my GoutPal story about lettuce so far.
Remember - these are my stories and experiences. So I hope they will inspire you to do your own research. And I will provide references where I can. But you must manage your gout recovery plan in conjunction with your professional health advisers.
Here, I'll:
Look at gout in the context of lettuce and diet.
Review my articles and discussions that currently mention lettuce.
Investigate research into lettuce as it affects gout and uric acid.

I'm taking this opportunity to reorganize food pages on GoutPal.com. Because I want them to reflect the structure of a Gout Foundation Diet for GoutPal Foodies. Then in future, I can build on that...
When someone asks "what does gout feel like in the knee" I imagine I'm dealing with a person with swollen knees. They've probably had gout in their feet, hands, wrists, or elbows. But something makes them wonder if it is gout or not. So I'd recommend starting with an Arthritis Sufferer Plan.

Rapid Weight Loss and Elevated Uric Acid Level
How much does rapid weight loss contribute to elevated uric acid levels?
I'm 50 and have had gout flareups for about 8 years. I've spent the past two weeks bedridden with swollen knees, feet, and ankles. I'm finally walking around (with some pain) after getting a course of prednisone.
Anyway, this last episode was so bad that I decided finally to do something about it. I ordered a uric acid test kit, and I swore off alcohol and red meat.
