Natural Alternative to Allopurinol
Here, we discuss gout patients experiences with narural alternatives to allopurinol. Which is part of the Alloputinol Alternatives Forum.
It is useful to know about these experiences when you are discussing allopurinol treatment with your doctor. Importantly, this occurs during two gout progression phases:
- Phase 5: Start Uric Acid Cure
- Phase 6: Adjust Uric Acid Cure.
In phase 5, you might discuss starting an alternative to allopurinol because you are genetically unsuitable. Or because you prefer to start a more gentle uric acid cure. In either case, your doctor will help you understand the risks of allopurinol before you start it. Including the risks of not starting a uric acid cure.
In phase 6, you might discus switching from allopurinol if you experience bad side effects. Or if allopurinol does not control your uric acid enough to reach your target uric acid level. A further alternative is to combine allopurinol with another treatment. Which could be another drug, herbal medicine, or dietary changes.
I have added the links to relevant pages at the end of this discussion.
