Hi,
New to the forum.
I am having an attack now, and the pain seems to move around my ankle and foot. At first it was in the back of my ankle and now it is on the top of my foot, i am taking medication (Indomdicen (sp)) for it, but htis isn't helping at the moment.
Any help would be great.
Regards

Colchicine is something also my doctor prescribed me when I first went on Allopurinol to reduce uric acid levels.
Maybe someone else has a better suggestion.

You take 2 pills and then one an hour until you rach 16, have the pain stop, or have intense diarrhea develop (it's common so stay close to home.)
If you don't want to go that route probably indomethacin is second best but you need to take ENOUGH…and that means around 50 mg. three times a day. You need more for gout than other conditions.

NSAID's are not something you want prolonged use of, but it may take a few days for it really to kick in and you feel relief. For me it was about two days or so. On the third day I felt a lot better, and after the third day I did not need to keep taking the indomethacin. I wasn't experiencing an acute attack, however, it was more lingering pains that wouldn't go away over several weeks.
Colchicine isn't a bad idea if the indomethacin doesn't appear to be working. Just be careful on the amount of Colchicine that you use and stop taking it when its no longer needed.
Good luck 🙂
