Do we as gout sufferers focus too much on “cause and effect”? In other words, is every gout attack caused by something we ate/drank? I think that many of us, myself included, try desperately to find a cause for gout so we can “control” it and blame a specific item of food or drink for our gout. I know that I've tried to identify “triggering” items, removed them from my diet only to have another severe gout attack. Almost every website or resource about gout seems to focus on “food and drink to avoid” and I don't eat or drink ANY of those items and I still have gout attacks. I like this website and forums because the focus is on the disease and not the things that may or may not trigger gout attacks. Anyone else here with me on this?
